What’s Happening At Walt Disney World In April

EPCOT FLOWER AND GARDEN FESTIVAL

Disney World’s flagship springtime event, the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival, continues through the entirety of April. In 2025, the festival runs from March 5 through June 2.

The EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival occurs daily and includes limited-time food and beverage items available for purchase at Outdoor Kitchens around the park. In the evening, the Garden Rocks Concert Series brings fan-favorite acts front and center. You can read more about the April lineup of concerts further down this guide!

My favorite thing about the Flower and Garden Festival is all of the character topiaries. There are tons around the park and make for great photo ops! EPCOT comes alive in a very unique way during the Flower and Garden Festival.

EASTER AT WALT DISNEY WORLD

If you visit Walt Disney World around Easter, you’ll find a few additional offerings in the parks and resorts to make your trip extra spring-y. In the weeks leading up to Easter, Disney usually releases limited-time Easter and bunny-themed food and beverage items around the parks.

Keep your eyes peeled, because you can also spot the Easter Bunny and Mrs. Easter Bunny for a seasonal character meet-and-greet. In the past, they’ve been hanging around Liberty Square Gazebo (dubbed Bunny Lane Garden) in Magic Kingdom.

EPCOT has its own Eggstravaganza Easter Egg scavenger hunt in the weeks leading up to Easter as well. Colorful Easter Eggs designed to look like Disney characters are hidden around the park, and participants can purchase a map as well as a prize for finding all of the eggs.

There is also an Easter-themed character cavalcade that usually takes place right around the Easter holiday (in the past it has been on the actual holiday as well as the day before). You can expect to see the cavalcade, featuring the Easter Bunny, before that day’s showing of Festival of Fantasy Parade).

And, of course, it wouldn’t be a holiday at Disney World without limited-time merchandise. You can spot items like an Easter Bunny-clad Mickey Mouse plush available for purchase.

Walt Disney World In April Weather

Spring at Walt Disney World can be quite pleasant, as that oh-so-lovely Florida humidity hasn’t quite settled for the summer just yet. That said, you definitely want to anticipate warmer temperatures (which could be a welcomed change of pace if you’re flying in somewhere that takes a little longer to warm up in the spring!).

According to Weather Spark, the average high in Orlando, Florida is 82 for the month of April, and the average low is 63. As Weather Spark also describes, most April weather in Orlando trends between “comfortable” and “warm,” which they consider one step beyond comfortable (but not yet “hot”).

If you tend to feel chilly in the morning and evening hours, you will want to bring a light jacket or sweater and dress in layers. As we progress closer to summer, however, those outer layers become far less necessary than they are in, say, February or even March.

A rainy morning at EPCOT

As far as rain goes, there is always a chance for precipitation in Central Florida. That said, April is a reliably drier month, with 7.2 days of rain on average compared to peak rain in the summer when you see 20 days of rain on average. No matter what time of year you visit Disney World, I advise you pack at least some rain gear.

Tips For Visiting Walt Disney World In April

PREPARE FOR PEAK SPRING BREAK CROWDS

Spring break stretches across March and April, but the peak crowds usually appear immediately before and after the Easter holiday, as that is when most schools schedule their breaks around. In 2025, Easter falls on April 20, which means the weeks of the 14th and 21st will be especially spicy when it comes to crowds.

As with any other busy season at Walt Disney World, you want to be prepared for longer lines and busier parks in general. Consider buying Lightning Lane Multi Pass on days where you plan on riding more rides, like on the days you are visiting Magic Kingdom or Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

TRON Lightcycle/Run

You may also need to adjust your expectations regarding how much you can realistically achieve in one day or over the course of one vacation. Longer lines and busier parks makes it more challenging to cross every item off of your “to do” list. During busy seasons, I personally prefer to go with the flow whenever possible and book Advance Dining Reservations to guarantee I have an hour or two away from the busy main thoroughfare of the park.

  • April 4 and 5: THE ORCHESTRA Starring ELO and ELO Part II Former Members

CHECK OUT THE EASTER EGGS AT DISNEY’S GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT AND SPA

I’m a big advocate for finding quieter, more laid-back activities that bring you out of the park for a couple of hours, especially during busy seasons. In the weeks leading up to Easter, the lobby of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa are filled with beautiful chocolate Easter Eggs designed by Walt Disney World Cast Members, including pastry chefs and culinary teams. They truly are works of art and are not to be missed! The eggs typically appear starting around one month before Easter.

You’ll also want to stop by the Grand Cottage in the lobby where you can pick up seasonal Easter treats.

It functions similarly to the gingerbread house that appears in the Grand Floridian lobby each holiday season.
