Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Anyone looking for a truly wild adventure on their Disney World vacation needs to include a day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on their itinerary. Animal Kingdom has a truly unique and distinctive identity from the other three theme parks, celebrating nature and the wildlife that calls our planet home. It is far more than your typical zoo. Officially accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, Animal Kingdom places a strong emphasis on conservation throughout the park, educating guests on the importance of preserving our planet for future generations.

Animal Kingdom is also home to many fan-favorite rides and attractions, as well as incredible dining and entertainment for the entire family. Here, you’ll find Pandora – The World of Avatar, as well as lands themed to regions on our home planet of Earth, including Africa and Asia.

What is there to do in Animal Kingdom?

Go see some animals! Whether it is on Kilimanjaro Safaris or on one of the park’s many walking trails, a day at Anima Kingdom is not complete without saying hello to the park’s residents. Other popular attractions include Flight of Passage in Pandora – The World of Avatar and Expedition Everest. If you want top-notch entertainment for the entire family, check out The Festival of the Lion King. It is one of the best stage shows in Walt Disney World. Hop on the train and head to Rafiki’s Planet Watch, where you’ll learn more about the care given to the park’s animal residents.

Where can I eat in Animal Kingdom?

Animal Kingdom has the fewest table service restaurants of the four Disney World theme parks, clocking in at just four. If none of them suit your family’s needs that particular day, fear not: Animal Kingdom has many great quick-service options, including Satu’li Canteen, one of the best quick-service dining locations across the entire resort. Add in some tasty snacks like french fries from Mr. Kamal’s and a Pongu Lumpia with a Night Blossom from Pongu Pongu (upgrade to a Rum Blossom if you’re over 21), and you still have the makings of a great foodie day at Animal Kingdom.

Speaking of alcoholic beverages, if you are so inclined, Animal Kingdom is home to some great bars and lounges, including Nomad Lounge and Dawa Bar. The walk-up wait list for Nomad Lounge can get long quickly, especially during peak seasons, so be sure to put your names in sooner rather than later if you want to check it out.
