Theme Park News: Fall Is Just Around the Corner at Walt Disney World

August has officially arrived, which means Halloween is just around the corner for theme parks like Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort. The summer weather is nowhere near slowing down, but that won’t stop the pumpkins from appearing on Main Street, U.S.A. any day. In the meantime, it has been another busy week in theme park news, which focuses a lot on the upcoming Halloween offerings at Disney World. There’s a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks and months, including the maiden voyage of Disney Cruise Line’s new ship, the Disney Destiny — also featured in this week’s roundup! Let’s dive in and catch up on the latest theme park news stories.

Disney Cruise Line Reveals New Details From ‘Hercules’ Stage Show Coming to Disney Destiny

Disney Cruise Line’s next ship, the Disney Destiny, has its maiden voyage this November. Leading up to the debut of the new vessel, Disney has peeled the curtain back on many of the projects currently underway to bring this ship to life, including some of the on-board entertainment. The headline stage show that passengers will be able to check out on their Disney Destiny sailing is ‘Hercules,’ based on the 1997 animated film.

This week, we got to take a look at more concept art that features the titans Hercules faces off with in the story. The titans themselves will be brought to life using puppetry.

Hercules will be prominently featured on the Disney Destiny, which brings the timeless theme of heroes and villains to the high seas. You’ll also be able to find Hercules-themed staterooms, a Royal Suite themed after the film, and a walk-up cafe called Café Megara located off the main hall.
