There’s a new chef in town, and if you’re heading to Disneyland Resort starting September 7, you’ll be able to see what’s cooking! Princess Tiana from ‘The Princess and the Frog’ has made her dreams of running her own restaurant come true in New Orleans Square, where the all-new Tiana’s Palace will be located. Construction has been underway since February of this year when its predecessor French Market closed its doors.
Oh – and for those of you keeping score at home – Mint Julep Bar will also officially reopen on September 7 (but it has been in a soft reopening for a few days now)! The popular walk-up stand that is where you’ll find Disney’s famous mocktail Mint Juleps and Mickey Mouse-shaped beignets has been temporarily closed since construction began in February.
Like French Market, Tiana’s Palace will be a Quick-Service dining location at Disneyland Park, offering a menu that will “represent Tiana’s story and honor the flavors and flair of New Orleans,” according to Disney. If you’re a fan of all things Cajun and Creole cooking, this will surely be a highlight on your foodie journey through the Happiest Place on Earth.
Tiana’s Palace is one of several new additions arriving at Disneyland Park inspired by ‘The Princess and the Frog.’ Earlier this year, New Orleans Square welcomed a new shopping destination called Eudora’s Chic Boutique Featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets. Coming up in late 2024 is the highly-anticipated opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the new flume ride attraction that is taking the place of Splash Mountain, both at Disneyland Park as well as Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.
