Full Guide to Disney Jollywood Nights at Walt Disney World

The holiday season is right around the corner. Yes, I’m writing this in the middle of October, we just put up our Halloween lights, but we have to talk about the big red and green elephant in the room. For Disney World fans, November signals the return of beloved annual parties and events, like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. Earlier this year, Disney World shared that a brand-new after-hours event would be joining this holiday season’s lineup: Disney Jollywood Nights.

Billed as a “nighttime soirée,” Disney Jollywood Nights will be a hard-ticketed event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios after regular park hours on select evenings. Think all things jazz, tinsel, festive food and drinks, and dancing. It’s like if Disney were to roll out a red carpet for the holidays. Even in its own words, Disney describes the event as “brimming with red-carpet moments, Hollywood vibes, glimmering décor and fantastic photo ops.” Guests are even “encouraged to don your holiday best!”

So it’s like a glitz-and-glam-themed Christmas gala. Or a swanky, jazzy, silver-and-gold-laden party. It’s giving me Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby, if it took place over the holidays and had less to do with the American Dream and more to do with theme park food and the Muppets.

If you are debating whether or not to buy tickets to Jollywood Nights, or you already have tickets and are wondering what’s in store, I’ve compiled everything we know so far about the event. This way, you can begin to map out your evening (it’s only four hours, and it looks like Disney’s really packing a lot into that time frame!).

The Basics: Who, What, Where, When, and How Much

Disney Jollywood Nights is a brand-new after-hours holiday party that will take place at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It will occur across ten select nights from November 11 through December 20. The full list of dates is as follows:

  • Saturday, November 11
  • Saturday, November 18
  • Monday, November 20
  • Monday, November 27
  • Wednesday, November 29
  • Monday, December 4
  • Wednesday, December 6
  • Saturday, December 16
  • Monday, December 18
  • Wednesday, December 20

The event will last from 8:30 PM until 12:30 AM. Ticket holders can enter Hollywood Studios as early as 7:00 PM on the night of their event. Once the party begins, attendees have access to virtually all of Hollywood Studios, including Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which won’t have any party-specific offerings but will remain open. (NOTE: A virtual queue will be in place for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance during Disney Jollywood Nights)

Tickets to Jollywood Nights are available for purchase on Disney World’s website. Prices range from $159 to $179 per person, depending on the night you attend. Note that there is no difference in price between adults and children ages 3-9. A $10 discount is available for Annual Passholders.

Entertainment

If an event like the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays is known for its food, then Disney Jollywood Nights could go down as being known for its entertainment. We haven’t even reached the first night yet, and it’s clear that this event is being branded as a park-wide soirée filled to the brim with jazz and Latin music, dancing, DJs, and more.

Event-Exclusive Shows

Exclusive entertainment will include a new “musical variety show” called “Disney Holidays in Hollywood” at Theater of the Stars, featuring – are you sitting down? – Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. Yes, two years following Merriest Nites at Disneyland Resort, the Muppets are once again taking part in a Disney theme park holiday event. The show will also include appearances from Disney Princesses, including Princess Tiana, who has a brand-new original song in the show.

Over at the Hyperion Theater, attendees can participate in a sing-along inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas! called “What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along.”

The evening wrap up with the return of Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! – “a seasonal nighttime spectacular that’s jam-packed with music, special effects and dazzling state-of-the-art projections.”

Themed Entertainment

Aside from live shows and nighttime spectaculars, Jollywood Nights will host a series of themed entertainment areas including live music, dance parties, and more:

  • Enjoy a mix of holiday tunes spun by a DJ along Hollywood Boulevard as you enter the park – a great way to set the mood!
  • At Echo Lake, take in a “throwback bash” filled with nostalgia, including appearances from Powerline Max (I have a feeling “I 2 I” will be a part of the musical lineup) as well as Phineas and Ferb.
  • Commissary Lane will be home to Holiday Fiesta en la Calle. This lively street party will be filled with Latin holiday music along with food and drinks inspired by Latin holiday traditions (keep reading to find out exactly what those food and drink items will be).

On top of all of that, there are two limited-capacity happenings at Jollywood Night that we have to talk about. The first is Twilight Soirée at the Tip Top Club — yes, that Tip Top Club. If this is the first you’re heading of it, the Tip Top Club is a famed spot in the lore of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. This club will come alive in the courtyard of The Hollywood Tower Hotel and will feature craft cocktails and a live band.

The second is Jazzy Holidays at The Hollywood Brown Derby. The Hollywood Brown Derby restaurant will be transformed into a jazz club, a place to grab a bite to eat while enjoying “holiday tunes amidst sparkling décor.” This “sophisticated setting” will include ” holiday music, craft cocktails and an exclusive menu of light bites.” NOTE: Mobile Walk-Up List will be used for Jazzy Holidays at The Hollywood Brown Derby during Jollywood Nights.

The Rest of Hollywood Studios

Aside from the party-exclusive entertainment, food, and drinks, you’ll still have access to much of Disney’s Hollywood Studios to explore. If you have additional time during your vacation to spend in the park, my suggestion would be to focus mainly on the party-exclusive offerings. Still, it could wind up being a great once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to walk onto Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster wearing a swanky evening dress or suit.

Confirmed Rides and Attractions Available During Jollywood Nights

  • Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
  • Slinky Dog Dash
  • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (virtual queue only)
  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
  • Disney noted that more rides will be available and to check back later for details. I’ll keep you updated with what I hear.
Rise of the Resistance

Speaking of Tower of Terror, Disney has shared that Sunset Seasons Greetings will return this year. Check out the Hollywood Tower Hotel as its facade is “magically transformed into an array of holiday scenes as snow falls along Sunset Boulevard.”

PhotoPass

If you’re into PhotoPass, then you’ll be happy to hear that your ticket to Disney Jollywood Nights comes with the photo service included! Feel free to download all of your photos taken by PhotoPass Cast Members, who will be found throughout the park during the event.

Those PhotoPass Cast Members will also be equipped with special effects and special lenses to add some holiday magic to your photos. Disney PhotoPass Video Memories will also be available during Jollywood Nights. Be on the lookout for a Robotic Arm Magic Shot as well as a Camera Array Magic shot that will give you and your friends a boomerang-style photo shoot.

I don’t know about you, but I am SO CURIOUS to see how Disney Jollywood Nights turns out. I loved attending Merriest Nites at Disneyland back in 2021, so I’m very happy to see yet another new and unique after-hours event arrive for the holiday season. Be sure to follow along for more updates as I hear them, and of course stay tuned for more holiday season planning tips for Walt Disney World.
