Disney Theme Park News For the Week of March 17, 2025

Spring has officially sprung! This week’s Disney theme park news lineup has all sorts of exciting new offerings and announcements that propel us into the new season. The next few months are jam-packed with a brand new lounge space opening at EPCOT, the 70th Anniversary Celebration kicking off at Disneyland, and much more!

New Details Revealed For Spaceship Earth Lounge Opening in Walt Disney World

In late spring, Disney World will open a new lounge space at EPCOT, and we learned some exciting new details this week! Previously known as Spaceship Earth Lounge, its official name was unveiled: GEO-82.

Once completed, GEO-82 will be an adult-exclusive lounge space for guests ages 21 and older. According to Disney, GEO-82 will “be the ultimate spot to toast to a trip around EPCOT with innovative cocktails and globally influenced small plates while you take in spectacular park views.”

New Disney Visa Free Dining Plan Offer Announced

Everybody loves free food, and one of Disney World’s most popular promotions is the Free Disney Dining Plan offer. In recent years, the offer has taken on different criteria for who qualifies. This latest promotion is exclusive to Disney Visa Cardholders, and you have to act quickly if you want to redeem it.

Disney World is bringing Free Dining back for Disney Visa Cardholders, but you must book by March 26, 2025 in order to redeem. The eligible arrival dates, by contrast, are quite wide-reaching, including the majority of the second half of 2025. Eligible arrival dates are as follows:

  • June 29 to September 30, 2025
  • October 20 to November 1, 2025
  • December 6 to December 22, 2025

In order for your vacation to be eligible, you must book a nondiscounted vacation package of at least four nights along with a four-day Disney World park ticket with the Park Hopper option added.

Disneyland Announces Three New Dining Packages and Experiences

Speaking of dining, there is some foodie activity happening over at Disneyland Resort in the coming weeks. There are new Dining Packages that will soon be available for booking, as well as a new dining experience coming to Storytellers Cafe.

Just in time for the 70th Anniversary Celebration at Disneyland is the Paint the Night Dining Package at Plaza Inn. This new dining package includes lunch or dinner at Plaza Inn and a reserved viewing area for that evening’s “Paint the Night” parade. Reservations will be available starting March 25.

The other dining package is the Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo Nighttime Gathering. This returning dining package includes “galactic bites” before watching that evening’s performance of Fire of the Rising Moon (the fireworks overlay exclusively in Galaxy’s Edge) from a dedicated viewing area. Reservations will be available for booking on April 3.

Finally, there’s a new dining experience coming to Storyteller’s Cafe! Donald Duck is taking the helm with Donald’s Tales of Adventure Buffet, featuring friends including Daisy and Clarabelle in a BBQ-style dinner buffet. Reservations are available starting March 25.

New Disney Vacation Club Lounge Opens in Magic Kingdom

The newest Disney Vacation Club Lounge has finally opened in Magic Kingdom in the former location of the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade. The lounge, officially dubbed “Disney Vacation Club McKim’s Mile House – A Member Lounge,” is named after Sam McKim, a Disney Legend and concept artist for the original Frontierland in Disneyland Park.

Like other DVC Lounges, McKim’s Mile House features sofas and chairs for kicking back and relaxing, complimentary soft drinks, complimentary Wi-Fi and phone charging spaces. The space will be open daily for Disney Vacation Club Members from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
