Disney Theme Park News For the Week of January 27, 2025

Can you believe we’ve reached yet another installment of Disney theme park news? On top of that, we’ve already reached the end of January. I don’t know where you live, but where I’m currently based, I could use some warmer weather!

To be honest, I debated whether to do a news roundup this week or wait to combine it with next week. It was a slower news week for Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort, but I decided to do a quick little news roundup.

Garden Rocks Concert Series Lineup Announced For EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival

We’re roughly one month away from the start of the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival! This year’s springtime festival runs from March 5 through June 2, complete with all of the fan-favorites like Outdoor Kitchens and the beautiful topiaries.

Another highly anticipated fixture of the Flower and Garden Festival is the Garden Rocks Concert Series. Taking place on select nights in the American Adventures Pavilion, the concert series features performances from beloved bands and artists! This week, Disney World released the lineup of the concert series, with the following acts performing (each night has showtimes at 5:30 PM, 6:45 PM and 8:00 PM)

  • March 7 and 8: Tommy DeCarlo, former lead singer of Boston
  • March 9 and 10: Air Supply – 50th Anniversary Celebration
  • March 14 and 15: Blue October
  • March 16 and 17: Rick Springfield
  • March 21 and 22: Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone
  • March 23 and 24: 38 Special
  • March 28 and 29: Jason Scheff, longtime lead vocalist of Chicago
  • March 30 and 31: To Be Announced – Check Back Soon
  • April 4 and 5: THE ORCHESTRA Starring ELO and ELO Part II Former Members
  • April 6 and 7: Sugar Ray
  • April 11 and 12: Simple Plan
  • April 13 and 14: Jo Dee Messina
  • April 18 and 19: Mike DelGuidice
  • April 20 and 21: A Flock of Seagulls
  • April 25 and 26: Taylor Dayne
  • April 27 and 28: 98 Degrees
  • May 2, 3, 4, and 5: Plain White T’s
  • May 9 and 10: Jon Secada
  • May 11 and 12: Maverick City Music (NEW for 2025)

Garden Rocks Concert Series dining packages are now available to reserve. These are a great way to secure guaranteed seating for the concert of your choice. The dining package is available at participating EPCOT restaurants.

Valentine’s Day Foodie Guide Released

The first “major” foodie holiday at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort is Valentine’s Day. For the first two weeks in February, the parks are filled with tasty sweets and red-and-pink-colored food and beverage items to commemorate the holiday. Whether you’re traveling to Disney with that special someone or you want to show yourself a bit of self-love, the Valentine’s Day treats are a fun way to celebrate love.

Disney released its Foodie Guide to all things Valentine’s Day this week. If you’re visiting Disney World over the next couple of weeks, give it a read so you know exactly where to scope out your next sweet. Expect the majority of these treats to appear over the weekend and to remain available for purchase through February 14.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT To Close For Brief Refurbishment at Disneyland Resort

If you’re heading to Disneyland Resort in March, be on the lookout for a brief closure of one of California Adventure’s popular rides. Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT will be closed starting on March 10 for refurbishments. The closure is expected to last less than two weeks.

There are a number of other attraction refurbishments taking place ahead of Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration, which begins on May 16. Over at Disneyland Park, “it’s a small world” will be closed until the spring, and the temporary closure of the Walt Disney World Railroad and the Disneyland Monorail continues until March 7.

Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend Takes Place

One final story out of Disneyland Resort this week — the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend is currently taking place! If you’re visiting Disneyland Resort or the surrounding Anaheim area this weekend, be prepared for road closures. Congratulations to all of the participating runners!
