Details Revealed From Haunted Mansion-Themed Lounge on Disney Treasure
In celebration of Halfway to Halloween, Disney Cruise Line revealed more details about the Haunted Mansion Parlor coming to its next ship, the Disney Treasure. Haunted Mansion fans already have a lot to look forward to with this highly-themed bar and lounge space, and this latest announcement harkens back to the original concept of the attraction.
Many of the parlor’s features are inspired by the original “Museum of the Weird” concept for the Haunted Mansion attraction. Many of those initial ideas and illusions, designed by Disney Imagineer Rolly Crump, will be brought to life onboard the Disney Treasure.
In a Disney Parks Blog post about the parlor, it was shared that ”Disney Cruise Line and Disney Imagineers will harness the power of design to convey the nostalgia of the original attraction alongside a new nautical storyline.” The nautical storyline will include elements from the Museum of the Weird concept, including an aquarium that houses “ghost fish.”
Disney also unveiled an exclusive commemorative drinkware collection available on the Disney Treasure. Haunted Mansion Parlor will debut when the Disney Treasure sets sail on her maiden voyage in December 2024.

Halloween on the High Seas Returns to Disney Cruise Line
Just like the theme parks, Disney Cruise Line goes all out for Halloween each fall. Halloween on the High Seas returns this fall, and Disney shared some of the details this week. A huge part of the fun of a Halloween cruise is dressing up in costume, which is exactly what Mickey, Minnie, and Donald will do in brand-new outfits this year.
Cruisers can also take in the fun at Mickey’s Mouse-querade. Itineraries that celebrate Halloween on the High Seas are available for booking on Disney Cruise Line’s website.

Name and Details Unveiled For New Disney Vacation Club Tower Coming to Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
Multiple new accommodation options are opening at Walt Disney World in 2024. In addition to the 350 brand-new cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, a new Disney Vacation Club tower is opening at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows.
We learned a lot about the tower this week, including its name: Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. The tower is scheduled to open in December 2024. Bookings will be available in early June, with the following dates marked as follows:
- June 4: Disney Vacation Club members can make early rental reservations by contacting Member Services at (800) 800-9800. Disney Vacation Club members will be able to make points-based reservations at a later date.
- June 5: Walt Disney World Annual Passholders can start booking rental reservations by contacting (407) 934-7639.
- June 6: All guests can make reservations online or by contacting (407) 934-7639.
When complete, Disney states that Island Tower will feature rooms that “sleep from two to nine guests, such as duo studios, spacious one- and two-bedroom villas and brand-new two-bedroom penthouse villas.” Those two-sleeper rooms sound an awful lot like the Tower Studio rooms available at Disney’s Riviera Resort. We’ll have to wait and see what the exact breakdown ends up being!

First Look at Fantasy Springs, Opening Soon at Tokyo Disney Resort
Many exciting developments have been happening at the international Disney theme parks over the last few years. A land inspired by Zootopia opened at Shanghai Disneyland, and World of Frozen recently opened in Hong Kong Disneyland. Now, fans eagerly await the official opening of Fantasy Springs at Tokyo Disney Resort.
Fantasy Springs will open at Tokyo DisneySea on June 6. Disney released extensive preview footage this week, including a first look at the spectacular attractions within the land. Fantasy Springs draws inspiration from a trio of Disney films: Peter Pan, Tanged, and Frozen. Each film is represented through state-of-the-art attractions, dining, shopping, and more.
In addition to the new land, Tokyo Disney Resort is set to open a brand-new hotel! Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel sits adjacent to Fantasy Springs and brings that full land immersion to your hotel stay. All in all, this land looks simply stunning!

DisneylandForward Is Officially Approved By Anaheim City Council
Let’s wrap up this week’s news by taking a look ahead at the potential future of Disney Parks. Three years after it was first proposed, DisneylandForward was officially approved by the Anaheim City Council after an initial vote of approval last month. In a statement released immediately following the vote, Disneyland President Ken Potrock shared, “We’re ready to build on decades of innovation, creativity, and storytelling to bring new, exciting experiences for our guests. The possibilities are boundless, and I can’t wait to see what our Disney Imagineers dream up next!”
DisneylandForward allows Disney to reimagine the land it currently owns, which could lead to future hotels, theme park attractions, and more. DisneylandForward officially can go into effect 30 days following the adoption, so let’s keep our eyes peeled in early June for preliminary announcements of what we could see as a result!
