Halloween is officially in full swing at the Disney theme parks! Disney World kicked off their seasonal offerings earlier this month, but as of today, Disneyland has also fully immersed itself into all things not-so-scary.
In addition to the seasonal offerings arriving at Disneyland Resort, this week’s news roundup includes a closer look at an upcoming Disney Cruise Line ship as well as a new resort offering coming to Walt Disney World at the end of this year. Let’s catch up on the biggest stories and events you may have missed from the Disney theme parks and Disney Cruise Line.
Halloween Time and Oogie Boogie Bash Begin at Disneyland Resort
I’m kicking off this week’s roundup of Disney news with a shout out to all my fellow Halloween fans out there! The fall season is upon us, and Halloween Time has officially begun at Disneyland Resort. This season is marked with limited-time treats, merchandise, and decor.
Halloween Time also means Oogie Boogie Bash makes its return starting August 23. The after-hours party will take place on select nights through October 31. This popular seasonal event sold out within days after tickets going on sale. Oogie Boogie Bash offers rare character appearances, immersive candy treat trails, Frightfully Fun Parade, and more.
I love Oogie Boogie Bash and this is definitely an after-hours event you’ll want to add to your “must do” list, especially if you love Halloween!

New Look at Disney Cruise Line’s Ship The Disney Adventure, Launching in 2025
Disney Cruise Line is hard at work bringing us three new cruise ships between now and the end of 2025. One of those new vessels is the Disney Adventure, the first Disney Cruise Line ship to have a home port in Singapore. The ship was acquired mid-construction by a different cruise company, meaning the Disney Adventure will look unlike any other DCL ship!
We got a new look at some of the features around the ship in new concept renderings, including the Imagination Gardens, which will serve as the heart of the ship.
We also got a look at a couple of the dining locations found aboard the Disney Adventure, including Grandma Tala’s Kitchen. Disney also shared that there will be a brand-new Marvel-themed show aboard the Disney Adventure called Avengers Assemble! The show will feature a lineup of Marvel superheroes, including Deadpool, who will make is Disney Cruise Line debut.
The Disney Adventure is set to be delivered in the second half of 2025. In its initial seasons, the ship will offer itineraries exclusively at sea.

New Details Revealed For Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
This December, a new Disney Vacation Club option is coming online at Walt Disney World. The Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows opens for guests on December 17, 2024, and this week we got a glimpse at new concept renderings of the tower’s various amenities.
Those amenities include dining locations like the Wailulu Bar & Grill. Sit me down at one of those booths that’s nestled into the water feature right around sunset and hand me a cocktail — I’d never leave!
Also coming to the Island Tower is a splash pad area themed after the Disney animated film Moana.
A big draw of the Island Tower will be these stunning Garden Terraces. The terraces are exclusive to guests staying overnight at the Island Tower and offer sweeping views of Seven Seas Lagoon, Magic Kingdom, and more.
The Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is available for booking, both as a Disney Vacation Club Member booking with points as well as a non-member booking with cash.
