A Complete Guide to Pixar Fest at Disneyland Resort

Disneyland Resort has been busy this year with a full lineup of seasonal events and festivals scheduled for 2024. In addition to Disneyland After Dark events and the return of its usual seasonal overlays like Halloween and the Holidays, there are some special limited-time festivals happening this year, too! In addition to Season of the Force taking place this spring, Disneyland is bringing BACK Pixar Fest!

Pixar Fest is at Disneyland Resort this summer!

Pixar Fest takes place throughout Disneyland Resort from April 26 through August 4. It first came about in 2018, and fans of the previous iteration will spot several returning components, along with some new offerings!

Entertainment, Decor, and Character Meet and Greets

Day and night, Pixar Fest brings memorable entertainment and character interactions to Disneyland Resort. During the day, guests can enjoy a brand new parade in Disney California Adventure called “Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration!”

Floats for this new parade feature characters from some of Pixar’s more recent films, including Turning Red, Soul, and Luca.

Of course, expect to find classic Pixar characters throughout the parade as well. The parade will happen twice daily at 4:00 PM and 6:30 PM.

Over in Disneyland Park, Fantasyland Theatre has been transformed into the Pixar Pals Playtime Party. Throughout the day, guests of all ages can enjoy Pixar animated shorts on the big screen, as well as photo opportunities, interactive games, and a high-energy show. Character meet-and-greets included here will include Ember and Wade from ‘Elemental,’ Luca and Alberto from ‘Luca,’ Russel, Carl, and Dug from ‘Up.’ The stage show will feature additional Pixar characters from ‘Toy Story’ and ‘The Incredibles.’

As you make your way around Disneyland Resort, you’ll notice colorful banners and installations in celebration of Pixar Fest. These make for great photo locations! The esplanade, in particular, has come alive in a brilliant hue of blues, reds, and yellows – definitely take a moment to check everything out! You will also want to keep your eyes peeled for the Pizza Planet Truck. It has been reimagined in 50 different ways and hidden in plain sight throughout Disneyland Resort. The entire family will enjoy getting in on this impromptu scavenger hunt.

As day turns into night, you have two ways to close out your Pixar Fest celebration. In Disneyland Park, the fireworks show “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” returns with viewing throughout the park (you’ll want to find a spot along Main Street, U.S.A. for the best views).

As reported by theme park journalist Scott Gustin, this iteration of the show builds on the 2018 version, which featured 59 Pixar characters. This time around, expect to find all of them plus 17 additional characters, including the five new emotions we’ll meet in ‘Inside Out 2.’

At Disney California Adventure, the Hollywood Backlot will come alive as Club Pixar each night, featuring themed food and beverages, photo ops, and more.

There is also a long list of Pixar characters guests can meet around the parks, including, for the first time, a talking Dug! He will greet guests at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in Disney California Adventure.
