Disney Theme Park and Cruising News: The Disney Adventure Arrives in Singapore

This week is a big one if you follow Disney Cruise Line news, as the newest ship to join the fleet, the Disney Adventure, has arrived in Singapore. In addition to that lead story, there has been a lot of activity going on at the domestic theme parks with two food festivals kicking off this week. With so much seasonal activity, this is an exciting time to visit the theme parks (just be aware that spring break is right around the corner, so be ready for some crowds!).

Let’s dive into this week’s biggest Disney theme park and Disney Cruise Line news stories that truly covers the globe.

Disney Cruise Line’s Newest Ship Arrives in Singapore Ahead of Maiden Voyage

Our lead story comes from across the globe, where Disney Cruise Line‘s newest ship, the Disney Adventure, has arrived in her home port of Singapore. The Disney Adventure marks the first Disney Cruise Line ship to be home ported outside of the United States. The official maiden voyage is scheduled for March 10.

After arriving in Singapore, a christening ceremony took place and featured the ship’s Godparent, Robert Downey, Jr.

The Disney Adventure is unlike any ship currently existing in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. The largest ship in the fleet, the Adventure features seven uniquely themed areas, including Marvel Landing, where passengers can enjoy two attractions: Groot Galaxy Spin and Disney Cruise Line’s first-ever coaster, Ironcycle Test Run.

Passengers will find immersive spaces throughout the ship, including San Fransokyo Street from Pixar’s ‘Big Hero 6.’

Also unique to the Disney Adventure are a variety of staterooms you won’t find on other Disney Cruise Line ships, including interior verandah rooms with views of Disney Imagination Garden and Disney Discovery Reef.

For its inaugural season, the Disney Adventure will offer 3- and 4-night days-at-sea-only voyages from Singapore.
