Spring can be a tricky season to pack for, with the temperatures fluctuating between cool and hot. That’s why I compiled this roundup of the packing essentials you need for your spring Walt Disney World vacation. Today, we’re mostly focusing on what clothes and accessories you need to pack in order to have a successful, comfortable vacation.

Comfortable Walking Shoes

No matter what time of year you visit Walt Disney World, comfortable walking shoes are a must. I almost always lead a packing roundup with this category because your shoes are the most consequential item of clothing you’ll bring with you on vacation. Pack the wrong shoes and your entire week is on the verge of disaster. This isn’t the time to break in new fancy shoes! Wear your most reliable pair, or if it’s time for a restock, consider these comfortable shoe options.

Park Outfit Basics

The base of any good theme park outfit includes a few basics you probably already have in your closet. The key to visiting Disney World is all about comfort, but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style. I’ve developed my own personal Disney style over the years as a (former) Disneyland local and regular Disney World guest. It’s all about incorporating what I like to call “subtle Disney” into your look. If you’re looking for inspiration for your core Disney OOTD, you’ve come to the right place.

Packable Outer Layers

You may experience cool mornings and evenings at Walt Disney World during the spring, with temperatures climbing into “hot” territory during the day. It’s important to dress in layers, but not only that, to have an outer layer that is easily packable into your park bag. There’s nothing worse than having a large, bulky jacket you don’t need for the majority of the day. Rather than roughing it during those cooler times of the day, consider a thin sweater that don’t add a ton of bulk or lightweight jackets that can fold or come with a small bag are perfect. A packable rain jacket could also come in handy in the event you run into some rainy weather.

Year-Round Staples

Like comfortable walking shoes, there are some year-round staples that you need to make sure are a part of your Walt Disney World packing list. This generally includes sun protection, such as hats and sunscreen, as well as some park bag essentials like sunglasses. In general, you can expect sunny, pleasant weather in the spring, so anticipate more warm days than cool days.
