It’s here! The latest Disney theme park and Disney Cruise Line news roundup for the week of April 29 is officially live – though I should note, this is not when they typically get posted. I was traveling this weekend for a cousin’s graduation, and everything went topsy-turvy with my schedule!
The week of April 29 had exciting developments from all corners of the Disney parks divisions. Whether you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, or aboard Disney Cruise Line, there are updates you’ll definitely want to read up on in this latest edition of the news!
Critter Country Temporarily Closes in Disneyland
Starting May 1, the majority of Critter Country at Disneyland Park will be closed for refurbishments in preparation for the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. During the closure, The Briar Patch and Pooh Corner will close as they transform into new shopping locations – Ray’s Berets and Louis’ Critter Club, respectively (the candy shop half of Pooh Corner will reopen).Â
In addition, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh will be unavailable during the renovations. Hungry Bear Restaurant will be open throughout this period. No reopening date for Critter Country has been announced, though it will likely be around when Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens at Disneyland.
That whole back left corner of Disneyland Park is one big construction site at the moment. In addition to the temporary closures in Critter Country and the work being done to build Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, construction continues in New Orleans Square as Haunted Mansion gets a new outdoor queue space! Definitely be prepared for additional congestion in that area this summer.
