Star Wars’ presence at Disneyland Resort has grown in significant ways since it first appeared in 1987. That was the year Star Tours opened in Tomorrowland, and Disneyland Park has never been the same! These days, there is an entire land — Galaxy’s Edge — devoted to the Star Wars franchise.
This year, Disneyland is offering Star Wars fans even more ways to get together and celebrate. That includes a season-long festival called Season of the Force, coming to Disneyland Resort April 5 through June 2. This article will serve as your guide to Season of the Force, including what limited-time food items are available, what you can expect in terms of nighttime entertainment, and more.
Attraction Overlays and Upgrades
Season of the Force will bring with it two exciting changes to Tomorrowland rides. One is a brand-new update to a classic attraction, while the other is the return of a fan-favorite, limited-time overlay. First up, Hyperspace Mountain is back! The Star Wars-themed overlay at Space Mountain will be available to all guests from April 5 through June 2, the duration of Season of the Force.
Also, in Tomorrowland, guests can expect new upgrades to Star Tours: The Adventures Continue. New characters and scenes will be added to the ride from Disney+ original series “Ahsoka,” “Andor,” and “The Mandalorian.”
These new interactions, in addition to the destinations and characters currently in the ride, will bring the total number of possible ride combinations and story variations to over 250.

Merchandise
Another huge draw to Disneyland festivals is the merchandise available for purchase. Season of the Force is no exception, with some really nifty-looking souvenirs I’m sure will sell like hotcakes. In particular, I have my eye on this Star Tours jacket (fun fact, I used to work on Star Tours at Disneyland! So I feel like I have some claim to this jacket, haha).
Season of the Force merchandise will be available for purchase at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Star Trader in Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park, and Star Wars Trading Post in Downtown Disney District. Select items will also come to DisneyStore.com later this year, so if you can’t make it to Disneyland, be on the lookout for shopping opportunities online!
Evening Experiences
Disney is bringing a brand-new way to experience fireworks in Galaxy’s Edge with “Fire of the Rising Moons.” On select nights, guests will be able to watch that evening’s fireworks spectacular to a Star Wars soundtrack in Galaxy’s Edge! According to Disney, this new experience will include “selections from composer John Williams’ Star Wars film scores” as a musical backdrop to the fireworks.
Season of the Force is also when Star Wars Nite will take place at Disneyland Park. This after-hours event will take place on select evenings: April 16, 18, 23, 25, 30; May 2, 7 and 9, 2024. During Star Wars Nite, attendees will be able to experience exclusive food, entertainment, including a cavalcade, photo ops, meet and greets, and more. Tickets for Star Wars Nite are on sale now.
You can experience the magic of the Star Wars franchise throughout the year at Disneyland Resort, but Season of the Force will crank that up in big ways! Be sure to let me know if you are planning on visiting the parks this spring.
