And just like that, we’re already finished with the first two months of 2024. Oh, how time flies! Let’s set our sights on March (my birthday month!) and see what it’s bringing Walt Disney World. March tends to be a quieter month in terms of special events and major to-do’s. As you will see, it’s mostly a continuation of things that started in previous months, with a few minor holidays and month-long celebrations sprinkled throughout, bringing yummy limited-time food and beverage items.
March certainly does not have to do any heavy lifting to bring guests in, however, with spring break crowds arriving sometime around the second or third week of the month. Expect to see plenty of crowds if you’re visiting this month!
EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival Continues
March signals the arrival of all things spring, and spring at Walt Disney World means it’s time for the Flower and Garden Festival! This beloved festival squeezed in just in time to start in February, but I’m going to throw it at the top of this roundup for March for good measure.
The Flower and Garden Festival runs shorter this year, ending on May 27 instead of early July like in recent years. Be sure to pick up festival favorites from booths like BRUNCHCOT, Farmers Feast, and The Citrus Blossom. And don’t forget to check out all the special topiaries around EPCOT!

St. Patrick’s Day and Easter Treats
There are two holidays you’ll want to keep on your radar if you’re visiting Disney World in March. St. Patrick’s Day is, of course, on March 17, and Easter Sunday falls on March 31 this year. That means that there will be a lot of special, limited-time treats around the parks and resorts! That includes treats available at the Grand Cottage found at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa (more on that in a sec).
We’ll dive more into some of the Easter treats in a little bit but expect to find themed food and beverage items around Disney World on the days immediately surrounding the two holidays. These treats usually don’t stick around after the holiday passes, so if you see something that piques your interest, be sure to grab it!

Typhoon Lagoon Reopens
Since the start of the pandemic, Disney World has operated its water parks on an off-and-on pattern, with only one being open at a time. Blizzard Beach has been open through the winter months, but Disney will do the old switcher-oo on March 17.
So, the last day you can experience Blizzard Beach for the next several months will be March 16. After that, Typhoon Lagoon will reopen and be the only water park available until further notice.

Easter Egg Displays at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
The Easter season means it’s time to bring the Easter egg displays back to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa! The lobby of the resort comes alive with beautifully designed and hand-crafted chocolate eggs, all created by Cast Members! Be on the lookout for your favorite Disney characters as well as park-inspired designs as well. The eggs will be on display starting March 1 and will remain through Easter.
In addition, the Grand Cottage will open on March 3. It’s essentially the springtime version of the gingerbread house guests find in the Grand Floridian lobby during the holiday season. At the Grand Cottage, you’ll be able to purchase limited-time Easter-themed treats.

Women’s History Month
March is Women’s History Month, and as a limited-time offer, Disney World is launching an entire lineup of specialty-themed food and beverage items. The treats can be found around the parks and resorts, including items like the Princess of Alderaan Shake.
Disney released an entire Foodie Guide with information on where to find these limited-time treats, so be sure to give it a read-through ahead of your March visit!

EPCOT’s Egg-stravaganza Hunt
There’s even more to see and do at EPCOT in March aside from the Flower and Garden Festival. Leading up to Easter, guests can take part in EPCOT’s Egg-stravaganza Hunt, a scavenger hunt that’s perfect for guests of all ages.
Purchase a special park map and stickers that will help you locate Easter eggs modeled after classic Disney characters. Once your map is complete, you win a collectable Easter egg as a prize!
