Hey, howdy, hey! This weekly news roundup from the Disney theme parks is coming a few days later than usual because, well…I just returned from a trip to Disney World! During my typical Friday news slot, I was in line for Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT (pro tip – it may be well worth the cost to purchase the Individual Lightning Lane for this ride. I had an afternoon Boarding Group, and I still waited for an hour after getting in line!).
I cannot wait to share more from my trip in the weeks to come. Even as someone who writes about Disney theme parks for a living, I still learn something new each time I visit. For now, let’s catch up on the big Disney parks news stories from the week of February 19, 2024!
Ice Cold Hydraulics Opens in Hollywood Studios
We have a brand new dining location in Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Ice Cold Hydraulics opened last week (I happened to be in the park on its first day of operations, which was pretty cool!). The menu is perfect for when you need a quick snack. Here, you’ll find unique items like the Candy Painted Cinnamon Rolls and Bouncin’ Mini Churros, along with frozen slushies.
Ice Cold Hydraulics is also where you’ll find classic Disney World snacks, like popcorn, pretzels, and Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars. Check the full menu out here:
It’s located at the entrance to Muppet Plaza across from Baseline Taphouse.

Foodie Guide Released For Women’s History Month
March is Women’s History Month, and each year, Disney celebrates the occasion by releasing limited-time food and beverage items. Fans were able to get a sneak peek at what will be available around Disney World with a Foodie Guide released on Disney Parks Blog. Many of the food items are inspired by fan-favorite women of the Disney universe, like Princess Leia in the Princess of Alderaan Shake found at Dockside Diner in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
As stated in the blog post, these items will be available around Disney World starting Friday, March 1. Be sure to check these limited-time menu items out if you’re visiting the month of March.

Disneyland Hosts Celebrate Gospel and Anaheim Ducks Days Events
Over at Disneyland, a series of limited-time events took place last week. These annual events are great opportunities to add something different to your day in the Happiest Place on Earth. Celebrate Gospel took place on February 17 and 24, and Anaheim Ducks Days took place on February 22 and 23.
The events featured entertainment, food items, cavalcades, and more. These events are offered each year, so they should be back in 2025 if you’re planning a trip to Disneyland around that time!

More Topiaries Appear Ahead of EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival
The EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival may still be a few days away, but visitors were able to get an early sneak peek at many of the topiaries that will decorate the park throughout spring. This includes the fan-favorite Figment topiary, found in a new location this year at Celebration Gardens.
Some of these topiaries even began appearing at the end of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, which concluded on February 18. So, if you love the topiaries but are planning a February vacation to Disney World, you may still spot a few, even if you don’t catch Flower and Garden. The EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival officially kicks off on February 28.

Easter Egg Displays Returning to Grand FloridianÂ
One of my favorite springtime traditions in Walt Disney World is the Easter eggs in the Grand Floridian lobby. These chocolate sculptures, designed and created by Cast Members, feature everything from classic Disney characters and films to your favorite theme park icons. Also coming to the Grand Floridian lobby is the Grand Cottage, appearing on March 3. The Grand Cottage is where you’ll find a number of Easter-themed treats available for purchase.
Be sure to check out these incredible works of art during the month of March! The eggs will arrive on March 1st and remain on display throughout the month leading up to Easter (which is on March 31 this year).
