40+ Travel Tech Accessories You Need For A Disney World Vacation

Whether we want to admit it or not, we have needed to rely on technology more and more when we travel to Disney World — or any destination, for that matter. Disney in particular is becoming heavily tech-reliant in recent years, with mobile apps being at the center of how we plan our days in the parks. The need to incorporate tech accessories into our packing list has become less of an add-on and more of a core necessity.

Between your park bag and your hotel room, you will find that there are several tech must-haves to make your vacation a smooth and enjoyable experience. As you start to pack your bags for your upcoming vacation, make sure to incorporate these essentials. This list not only covers things you need to keep your phone charged, but other tech accessories that will make your travels less stressful overall.

Portable Chargers

A lot of time is spent on our phones, and that’s also the case when you visit Disney World. Between Genie+ reservations, checking wait times, studying the park maps, and Mobile Order, there are dozens of ways you can find yourself pulled to your device. That will put added strain on your phone’s battery, so you definitely want to make sure you have a reliable portable charger with you in the parks.

Charging Wires

It goes without saying that you’ll need a wire to connect your phone to your portable charger. Rather than bring the standard wire that comes with your phone, look into purchasing extra-long wires instead. That way, you can keep your portable battery in your park bag, and you still have access to your phone as it charges.

Power Strips

This next must-have is for your hotel room. Between your phones, MagicBands, smart watches, etc., you’ll have at least a few different devices that will need to be charged overnight. Multiply that by the number of people in your travel party, and all of a sudden, you’re fighting over the limited number of power outlets in your hotel room. Make things easy with power strips and devices that turn one power outlet into multiple.

Tech Organizers

Of course, you’ll need a place to store all of your tech gadgets while you travel. I personally have a very simple yet effective tech organizer from Amazon, but different brands have their own version if you want something a little more stylish.

Headphones

If you’re in the market for headphones, a Disney World vacation is a good excuse to go looking for a new pair. Headphones can save the day on multiple occasions, whether you need something to keep you entertained on the airplane or you need to cancel noise at night. I’ve included both in-ear and over-ear models depending on what you personally prefer.

Handheld Luggage Scale

Let’s be real: you’re going to pick up a few souvenirs during your Disney World vacation. Those sweatshirts, Loungefly backpacks, Minnie Ears, and mugs (my personal favorite) all add up when it comes to weight! You may have passed with flying colors on the way to Disney World, but your luggage might gain a few pounds on the way back. Reduce the stress of worrying over how much your bags weigh by investing in a handheld luggage scale. These will easily weigh your bag by simply lifting it by the handle.

Bluetooth Trackers

There is a lot to keep track of when you’re in Disney World, including bags, electronics, strollers, wheelchairs, and so on. Whether you lose track of them or a Cast Member brings your stroller to a designated parking area while you’re on a ride (it happens all the time!), having an AirTag can save a lot of stress and headaches during park days. Another brand that makes Bluetooth trackers in a variety of shapes and sizes is Tile.

White Noise Machine

This next one has been a game-changer in the way I travel. I’m someone who needs white noise in order to sleep. Basically, I’m team #sleeplikeababy. Literally. At home, it’s pretty simple to have a tower fan in my bedroom at all times, but on the go, it is a little trickier. I have recently joined team white noise machine, and I will never look back. They’re small and compact to fit in your suitcase easily, and the battery life means you never have to worry about it dying overnight. I know moms of little ones are probably already well aware of the benefits of having a portable white noise machine, but if you’re new to this world, welcome.

Charging Station

I talked already about power strips to help you charge everyone’s devices in your hotel room, but those don’t always make for a neat and organized bedside table. If you need your devices close to you and are a fan of charging docks or charging stations, I’ve got you covered. These slim and sleek magnetic charging stations are easy to pack and will help keep your devices at 100%.

Phone Stands

I’m having a hard time grappling with the fact that we live in a world where some airplanes still don’t come with screens at each seat. For those moments, having a phone stand that is designed to prop your phone is a life-saver (otherwise, you’re fumbling with your can of soda or sweatshirt as a makeshift stand). These are also great if you have little ones who want to watch a show while you sit down for lunch or if you want to rest it on your nightstand overnight.

Handheld Fan

I had to throw in what is perhaps the most important category as far as tech accessories go. I would have simply perished last summer if I hadn’t had a handheld fan on and in my face 24/7. When you can’t be in air conditioning, the next best thing IMO is a reliable and strong handheld fan. Pair that with drinking plenty of water, and the Orlando heat is suddenly more bearable. Seriously, if you buy nothing else on this list, get a handheld fan. I had so many people stop me and ask me where I got mine (spoiler: Amazon) – don’t be one of those people who are doing the asking! Be the person who’s being asked because you look so much more comfortable!
