Everything Revealed About Disney Cruise Line’s New Ship, the Disney Treasure

Disney Cruise Line has been hard at work in recent years to expand their fleet. The newest ship, the Disney Wish, set sail on its maiden voyage just last year, yet sights are already set on the next addition to Disney Cruising: the Disney Treasure.

The Disney Treasure is one of three brand-new, custom-built ships announced as part of a new lineup for Disney Cruise Line – the Disney Wish was the first of three, and the third unnamed ship is expected to set sail starting in 2025. It was also announced that a fourth new ship that was mid-construction, previously known as the Global Dream, was acquired by Disney and is expected to have its maiden voyage in 2025 as well.

But right now, all eyes are on the Disney Treasure! Disney hosted a grand virtual reveal for the public on September 5, announcing that the maiden voyage of the Disney Treasure will take place in December 2024.

Here’s a FULL breakdown of what was announced, from theming to dining and beyond!

The Disney Treasure: Built For Adventure

Let’s start off by setting the scene of the Disney Treasure’s vibes. Close your eyes, and imagine adventure on the high seas…okay, scratch that, open your eyes – we don’t have to imagine; Disney unveiled a TON of concept art with its initial virtual reveal!

As the name implies, it’s all about adventure aboard the newest Disney Cruise Line ship. Think back to your favorite action-packed Disney stories: from voyages deep in the jungle to exploration under the sea and even saving the galaxy, there are plenty of films, attractions, and characters Disney could pull from when designing the ship. As far as the layout of the ship goes, it will share a near-identical footprint to that of the Disney Wish. As you may notice, a lot of the spaces that will be included on this ship are similar to what you’d find on the Wish, but with all-new theming and designs. So, you may “know” how to “get around” the Treasure if you’ve sailed on the Wish, but you are still in for plenty of surprises and unique discoveries.

From Disney’s first virtual reveal, it’s clear that the Disney Treasure will have a unique look and feel to it that is familiar to Disney Cruise Line enthusiasts, yet singular all at the same time. The sense of adventure extends throughout the ship, including onto the stern, which depicts Peter Pan and Captain Hook.

Upon entering the Grand Hall aboard the Disney Treasure, guests will be greeted by a beautifully adorned space featuring Aladdin and Jasmine flying on the Magic Carpet as the ship’s gilded statue of choice.

STATEROOMS AND SUITES

When guests check in aboard the Disney Treasure, most will head to one of the ship’s 1,256 staterooms. Each one will feature custom artwork inspired by some of the films most known for their sense of adventure: “Aladdin,” “Pocahontas,” “Up” and “Encanto.”

© Disney

Concierge and royal suites will feature designs inspired by “Aladdin,” “The Lion King,” and “The Jungle Book.”

For all you EPCOT fans out there (myself included), you’ll want to consider saving your pennies for the pièce de résistance: an EPCOT-inspired suite called Tomorrow Tower Suite. If you’re familiar with the layout of the Wish Tower Suite on the Disney Wish, then you already have a good idea of what’s in store here.

© Disney

The suite is 2,000 square feet (hello, 2-story window!) and includes a private ensuite elevator, full kitchen, and “forward-thinking” themes inspired by EPCOT, specifically the atmosphere of EPCOT’s World Discovery neighborhood.

Disney shared construction progress from Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, where the Disney Treasure is being built. In this update, shared July 16, 2024, all 1,256 state rooms have been installed.

Disney also shared this image of one of the stateroom hallways currently under construction (as of July 2024):

DINING

The dining spaces have become some of the most highly-anticipated aspects of a new Disney Cruise Line ship, and the Disney Treasure is no different. We’re talking a Jungle Cruise-themed bar! A Haunted Mansion-themed parlor! A pub modeled after 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea! Along with all of the familiar favorites from Disney Cruises, the offerings aboard the Disney Treasure sound like a Disney fan’s biggest dream come true!

Plaza de Coco

Let’s start off with where everyone will be eating dinner during their cruise aboard the Disney Treasure. I’m perhaps the most excited for Plaza de Coco, a “Coco”-themed dining experience. This theatrical celebration of the Pixar film “Coco” will offer TWO unique opportunities to enjoy the food, music, and stories that will bring the world of the movie to life.

© Disney

On the first night, guests go on a musical journey, picking up right where the film left off as Miguel and his family gather in Mariachi Plaza. Dinner this evening will feature a “modern twist on traditional Mexican fare.” The second night features Miguel reuniting with his great-great-grandparents as the town square transforms into Santa Cecilia in a celebration of Día de los Muertos.

Let’s talk food you’ll find on the menu at Plaza de Coco. Guests can expect dishes inspired by the film such as:

Abuelita Elena Shrimp Diabla with chili-chipotle sauce, cilantro, pickled red onion, and toasted birotes

Chorizo Street Croquettes with chili-lime crema, cotija cheese, and cilantro

Blistered Poblano Pepper stuffed with Oaxaca cheese and green rice

Red Capsicum and Green Parsley Grilled Snapper with fried yucca, refried beans, baby spinach, and pico de gallo

Pan-Seared Adobo Spiced Sea Bass with seared scallops, rainbow carrots, spinach, Romanesco, peas, and chimichurri sauce

Luisa’s Pollo Asado with Michoacán citrus chicken, cilantro rice, and serrano-tomatillo salsa

Enrique’s Port Wine Braised Center Cut Beef Short Rib with cheddar cheese and green onion red mash and long green beans with crisp shallots

Mexican Chocolate Tart with spiced chocolate crème, caramel pecan nuts, and chocolate glaze

Warm Coconut Tres Leches with milk-soaked coconut cake, caramel sauce, and dulce de leche ice cream

Margarita Lime Cheesecake with a sea salt shortbread and raspberry-agave margarita coulis

Skipper Society

Found near the Grand Hall, Skipper Society is what will likely be one of the most highly sought-after spots aboard the Disney Treasure. That’s right, we’re getting a Jungle Cruise-themed lounge! The vibes at Skipper Society won’t feel at all like you’re on a months-long excursion along the rivers of Asia, Africa, and South America. Rather, guests can expect an “elevated, playful atmosphere” with “natural colorways and camp-style furnishings,” complete with monkey-shaped chandeliers. If you need me, this is where you can find me.

I would expect all the antics of Jungle Cruise Skippers to be on full display, along with cleverly-themed libations for adults ages 21 and above.

Haunted Mansion Parlor

Another highly-anticipated spot aboard the Disney Treasure that’s rooted in fan-favorite Disney Parks lore is the Haunted Mansion Parlor. According to Disney, this themed bar will “immerse guests in the next chapter of the Haunted Mansion saga,” suggesting that there could be some ties to the 2023 film Haunted Mansion as well. If you are familiar with the layout of the Disney Wish, the space that the Haunted Mansion Parlor will inhabit is the same as Hyperspace Lounge.

© Disney

The design of the Haunted Mansion Parlor draws from the original Disneyland and Disney World attraction, but with a nautical twist. Not only will this space serve as a bone-chilling bar, but guests can also pick up some exclusive merchandise as well. The Haunted Mansion Parlor is sure to be filled with Easter Eggs that pay tribute to the beloved ride.

© Disney

When visiting Haunted Mansion Parlor, guests can experience some of the famous attraction’s original concepts. One early idea was to have a “Museum of the Weird,” with illusions and designs from Disney Imagineer Rolly Crump. Many of Crump’s concepts will make their way to Haunted Mansion Parlor, including a ghost fish aquarium.

© Disney

Disney also gave a preview of some of the drinks that will be served in the Haunted Mansion Parlor. There’s the sweet Ghoulish Delight, a “ghostly twist” on the classic margarita, and a nonalcoholic mocktail called Sympathetic Libations. Huge props to whoever came up with that name.

Disney Treasure-exclusive commemmorative drinkware will be available for purchase at Haunted Mansion Parlor as well.

Scat Cat Lounge

Haunted Mansion Parlor isn’t the only themed lounge space found aboard the Disney Treasure! Disney also announced Scat Cat Lounge will join the lineup of food and beverage offerings, themed after the animated film The Aristocats.

According to Disney, Scat Cat Lounge will feature the “elegance of an old-school jazz club with artistic references to ‘The Aristocats.'” It will be centrally located off the Grand Hall.

Scat Cat Lounge © Disney

Scat Cat Lounge will feature a menu of drinks inspired by The Aristocats, including:

  • The Créme de la Créme Martini infused with cognac, chocolate and a nutmeg topping
  • The Cat Drink with clarified bourbon, amaro, Aperol, and fresh lemon
  • The Turkish Tea Experience, a tea-based cocktail for two or more guests
Umm ok I need this glass in my life. © Disney

Expect to find plenty of Easter Eggs and hidden details throughout Scat Cat Lounge!

Periscope Pub

Disney historians will love this one – the first-ever Disney Cruise Line space inspired by the classic 1954 film “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” and the Walt Disney World attraction that ran from 1971 to 1994. Periscope Pub will truly be an embrace of all things adventure, with a submarine-meets-steampunk interior. Guests will love to unwind here as they order off a menu of craft brews and light bites while watching live sports games, news, and more.

Jumbeaux’s Sweets

If you have a sweet tooth, you will want to add Jumbeaux’s Sweets to your list of must-visit locations while on the Disney Wish. Inspired by the world of “Zootopia,” this sweets shop will feature 35 flavors of handmade gelato to enjoy after dinner (or before dinner – who are we kidding!), along with ice cream, sorbet, specialty treats, candies, and more. All of this will be while you’re fully immersed in a collision of playful pink interiors and Victorian-style architecture.

© Disney

Keep your eyes peeled for Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde! Disney shared photos of the statues depicting Nick and Judy being built along with the ship:

According to Disney, these statues will be a central design feature of the sweets shop.

As you might imagine, Jumbeaux’s Sweets is where you’ll find all kinds of goodies to satisfy your sweet tooth. Disney revealed a first look at what the menu here will include, with items like:

  • Judy Hopps Carrot Cupcake with spiced carrot cake, dollops of lemon frosting, white chocolate crème, and blueberry compote
  • Nick Wilde Raspberry ‘n Cream Cupcake with red velvet sponge cake, vanilla frosting, white chocolate crème, raspberry compote, and a chocolate décor topping
  • Paw Shortbread Sandwich with two paw-shaped red velvet shortbread cookies, vanilla frosting, and dulce de leche
  • Mango Leopard Cakesicle with lemon fudge cake and a mango-chocolate glaze drizzle
  • Carrot Chocolate-Covered Strawberries with cookie crumble soil and a white chocolate coating
  • Zootopia Chocolate Bark Post Cards with a distinct character-inspired decoration and flavor combination including an assortment of dry fruits, nuts, and sprinkles

Worlds of Marvel and Other Returning Favorites

Avengers, assemble! The Disney Treasure will include a Worlds of Marvel as part of the family dining rotation. Think immersive dining experience meets the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sound familiar? That’s because Worlds of Marvel was a new concept introduced on the Disney Wish!

If you have had the chance to dine at Worlds of Marvel on the Disney Wish, then you probably know what to expect on the Disney Treasure. But don’t think this is an exact “copy and paste” of what you find on the Wish – Worlds of Marvel aboard the Disney Treasure will include “a worldly menu and two separate nights with distinct shows and dining inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe.” Worlds of Marvel on the Disney Treasure will feature a brand-new “Guardians of the Galaxy” dinner show called “Marvel Celebration of Heroes: Groot Remix.”

According to Disney, “The story will follow Groot as he brings guests along for an on-screen quest to throw the ultimate surprise party for his friend, Rocket. All the while, diners will eat to the beat of an “awesome mix” of hit songs and can test their knowledge of the Marvel universe with trivia for the whole family.”

© Disney

Worlds of Marvel is not the only returning dining venue guests will find aboard the Disney Treasure. Also joining the restaurant lineup are favorites, including 1923 for families of all ages, along with elevated dining experiences at Palo, The Rose, and Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallament.

ATTRACTIONS, ENTERTAINMENT, and KID CLUBS

Of course, we’re all on a Disney Cruise to have a great time! Beyond the island excursions and top-notch dining experiences, there’s plenty of fun to be had throughout the ship, no matter your age. There will be more than plenty to see and do on your days at sea, including clubs to keep the kids occupied and Broadway-caliber entertainment.

© Disney

The Walt Disney Theatre, two all-new stage productions, “Beauty and the Beast” and “Disney Seas the Adventure” will delight families. On the upper deck, Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party will be a music and fireworks-filled party you won’t want to miss. Exclusive to the Disney Treasure will be “Disney The Tale of Moana,” an all-new musical inspired by the hit animated film ‘Moana.’

© Disney

According to Disney, “The show will follow Moana as she embarks on an incredible journey to save her island after she is chosen by the ocean to restore the heart of Te Fiti.” The show will debut December 2024 with the Disney Treasure. The show will also feature a 15 foot-tall puppet of  Te Kā — the largest puppet ever made for a Disney Cruise Line show.

© Disney

A two-story space called Sarabi, themed after “The Lion King,” will serve as a hub for “a multitude of daytime activities and adult-exclusive evening entertainment.” Disney Cruise Line classics including “Match Your Mare” and “Family Time Game Show” can be found in this space.

© Disney

AquaMouse Water Coaster

One of the biggest additions to Disney Cruisng with the launch of the Disney Wish was AquaMouse, a state-of-the-art water “coaster” that provided plenty of thrills all around the upper deck of the ship. Those thrills continue on the Disney Treasure with AquaMouse: Curse of the Golden Egg. With an all-new story featuring Mickey and Minnie, this AquaMouse takes riders along 760 feet of winding tubes, all while “offering breathtaking views of the ocean and the ship below.”

© Disney

Kids Clubs

Kids will have several spots around the Disney Treasure to spend some time without their parents! Returning kids clubs include Disney’s Oceaneer Club, Edge, Vibe, and It’s a Small World Nursery, each catering to a different age group ranging from toddlers and preschoolers up to teenagers.

© Disney

Other immersive spaces for kids to enjoy will include Marvel Super Hero Academy, Fairytale Hall, Walt Disney Imagineering Lab, Star Wars: Cargo Bay and Mickey and Minnie Captain’s Deck. Each will have its own unique theming, with favorite Disney characters joining in on the fun.

Disney Treasure Sets Sail December 2024

PHEW! Disney Cruise Line unveiled a ton of exciting details surrounding its newest ship, the Disney Treasure, and we’re still over a year out from the maiden voyage! But of course, we all know that a cruise is about more than just the ship, although Disney does an excellent argument that the ship is the main attraction. Cruising is also about visiting some spectacular destinations around the globe, which leaves us asking…where exactly will the Disney Treasure be sailing?

There are of course even more details to be announced in the months to come, including information about the spas and adults-only spaces aboard the Disney Treasure. But for now, we’ll leave you with this to start your travel plans: the maiden voyage is scheduled for December 21, 2024, out of Port Canaveral, Florida. Following the maiden voyage, the ship’s inaugural itinerary will include a 7-night voyage to the Eastern and Western Caribbean.
